This Weekend's Club Event Reminder!

Hello everyone,

To update you on the Dock repairs,  they have stabilized the end of the dock.  They have currently removed the electrical from slip 70 and beyond.  The electrician needs clear days (no rain) to reconnect.

The weekend weather is looking great.  We will have a 10:30 AM captain’s meeting.  We still need a volunteer for the Fox in the Fox and Hound Chase (a water balloon fight while sailing).  We need to get back to the dock by 3:30 PM and set up for our Flea Market.  I have heard from many of you that you have things to sell.  Don’t forget to bring your treasures.  The Flea market will be from 4-5PM.  Then we will get ready for our International Cook-Off.  Dust off your recipes and bring something from the lands beyond.  It can be an entrée, dessert or appetizer.  We will have 3 judges and award a certificate.  Bring chairs to sit on the lawn up at the top of C-dock.  I look forward to seeing you all.

Hello everyone,

Due to the severe weather that is supposed to push through tomorrow afternoon, and the beautiful weather in Sunday's forecast, Eddie has decided to go ahead and postpone tomorrow's club races to Sunday.

The race committee meeting will be at 10:30 near the end of C Dock and races will start at noon or a few minutes before.

You may reach him on his cell phone until later this morning (919-880-0093).  After that, he'll be out of reach and enjoying Friday afternoon on the water.

Hope to see you Sunday!
Diane (for Eddie)

Race 1 & 2 Results ~ Races 3 & 4 Next Saturday

Hello Racers,

Races 3 & 4 of our Spring 2011 race series will take place next weekend.

We started this year’s racing with a good turn-out with nine boats showing up for races 1 & 2. The weather forecast was not the best, although the racing turned out to be good.  Race one started with 4 boats hiitting the starting line overlapped.  Race 1 was a two-lap hotdog course.  The first mark rounding was troublesome for most of the fleet.  Honeycraft and Wrenagade wriggled past the fleet and lead the rest of the boats around the race course with Honeycraft taking line honors.

The wind stayed in the 5 to 6 knots range throughout most of the day.  With the weather calling for rain to hit the lake by 3 p.m., we tried to get in a second race as soon as the first race ended.  Race 2 consisted of a one-lap triangle course.  The fleet hit the line on time with many boats fighting for clean air.  Wrenagade  jumped in the lead half-way up the first leg and showed the fleet her transom the rest of the way to take line honors.

The results for last month's races are as follows
