Hello Everyone,
I hope that this e-mail finds that all of our members are safe and sound from the wild and turbulent weather. Friday was a wonderful day. Several people went out sailing. Winds were steady but building in the afternoon as the storm was approaching our area. Tenacious and Unplugged went out, I saw the new owners of Irresponsible out, Dead Stick was back at dock when I arrived late afternoon. The winds stayed with us all night and was much worse at the end of C-dock. On Saturday it was gray and cloudy with some peeks of sun momentarily. We had a group go to Pegram’s for breakfast. We had a sprinkle then. By 1 PM, Mark & I headed home. On our way home, we had gotten a call from Pat Terry saying the TV weather was showing tornados possible at the lake and wanted the phone numbers of those who stayed behind. We contacted Mel & Chesley. Mel had already seen the Doppler on her phone and most everyone abandoned ship to go by the bath-house for cover. Torrential rain and wind came by and I understand that the end of C-dock by Godspeed and Tenacious broke again. I heard that they roped it up and no damage to any boats. After the storm, the skies got bright, blue and no clouds. Unplugged went for a night sail. Sunday was a most gorgeous day. I wish I could have been at the lake. I will leave the details of the storm and race to Eddie to tell in his racing e-mail. Mark & I will be heading up to the lake tomorrow (Tuesday) for the delivery of our new boat. It is expected at 11 AM. Just a reminder, our next club event is the Fox and Hound Chase followed by an International Cook-off. (brush off some of your favorite recipes). Last year we had food from Italy, Poland, Germany, India, Mexico and France. If the weather is going to be good, I may try to throw in our Boating Flea market prior to the cook-off. Be safe everybody.
