First I have to say once again we SCYC have the best dock mates and friends.
The weather was not the best it was cold and windy and not many people come out on Friday. There are two new boats in the club. Don Courtney's new boat has been launched and is sitting in her slip and Rick Connely's new boat is now in her slip after a few trials and tribulations.
I will not go into grand detail on the trials and tribulations of launching Rick's boat but a cliff note version instead. As the boat was moving down the ramp the trailer got stuck or hung on something in the water and would not move and the boat was not fully floating. A large group gathered, too many to count but all willing to pitch in and help in any way possible, to come up with a possible solution to fix this issue. We are glad everyone came out to help becuase they were needed at one point or another. Even Parrotise with her 350 hp tried to pull her off the trailer into the water without success. Rick nor I wanted to cause any damage to either one of our boats. A tow truck was called in and with the help of Mark ( getting into the cold water to hook it up) the boat and trailer was pulled out of the water with no damage done. It was decided to wait until Sunday to try again at a different ramp
Saturday evening after dinners were done a group gathered for some rounds of corn hole. What a fun time and great laughs and talk about the day. It was great to see Jim and Betty back on the dock. They said they plan on coming up more this summer and we all hope that comes true. After a few hours people said they were cold and ready to go in. Well you have to finish the game that was in progress. I had a great partner in Barry (he made it in the whole for 3 pts on almost every turn) against Jim and Jeff. Well Barry and I had an 18 to 7 lead so the game was in hand for us. Oh no, so who steps up but Jeff (the only one that has made the four in a row automatic win in the past) and does it again. Yes that is correct he made four in a row for the automatic win again. What a great game that was. I believe he said he was going to retire again from the game.
Sunday was another cold and windy day but Rick wanted his new boat in the water. So a group of us took it over to Hiberina where it was launched without an issue. The smile on Rick's face as he was motoring it to the dock was priceless.
Congrat to Don and Rick it is now time to enjoy your new boats.
There will be plenty of pictures from the weekend and I even thing movie clips will be worked on and posted later this week.
Next weekend is Mothers Day and the club does not have anything on the calendar. We will see you at the lake and if not have a great week.
