New Years Eve 2013!!
When Meryl Alexander, Diane Walters and Laura Twyman started planning getting together for New Yrs none of us had any idea it would be such a huge success and are were so happy to see so many lake friends and family get together to celebrate the last day of 2013.
37 Lake friends/family gathered together to celebrate all the fun times of 2013 and to look forward to making new memories for 2014. 18 people returned to the marina to ring in the New Year on Inconspicuous hosted by Dan and Patricia. A wonderful evening was had by all. (thank you to Darren for some of the New Yrs pix)

Fall Meeting 2013
We had a record number of 50+ attending the Fall Meeting this year. Thank you to all our cooks for providing us with some yummy food.
With Steve Twymans Commodore Role coming to an end, and Vice Commodore, Chesley Campbell not wishing to take over the busy role, new officers were needed to volunteer to take care of our group for 2014. As it was being discussed who would take over these roles Bob Harrison walked through the door and everyone brorke into applause and jokingly voted him in, rendering him speechless for a few seconds! In the end though Dennis Koehler stepped up as Commodore and Dave Rock as Vice-we all know they will make a great team. Helen Rock was happy to continue as Secretary and Doug Miller as Treasurer. So many members volunteered to host and co-host events over the past year, many members were at events to help in the set up/clean up, Patricia worked hard on our SCYC Merchandise and Diane Walters worked diligently at keeping the website updated--all are thanked for their enthusiasm and hard work for making our club a success. This years Shipmate of The Year Award and Flag were awarded by previous years winner, Don Courtney, to Laura Twyman " who continuously contributes to the energy and enthusiasm for all in the club. Thank you Laura! "
Mark and Meryl hosted about 12-15 of us on their boat evening to enjoy the wonderful leftovers from the Fall Meeting.

Annapolis Boat Show 2013
Approximately 20 people braved the rainy weather to enjoy lots of boats and lots of cool boat "stuff". Most of the group got together for dinner Friday evening and then celebrated Jessica Connelly's Bday back in Eddie and Dianes room. Saturday was another enjoyable day at the show with a smaller group getting together that evening.

Labor Day 2013
A few words to describe the weekend are great sailing, pizza, new anchorage, stuck and broken anchors and an easy raft up Saturday. 16 people had dinner at the Pizza Pub. Sunday started off warm and muggy and several boats headed out to enjoy the day. 5 Boats spent the night at a new anchorage out by Eastland Creek. The day was great but a huge storm came up in the afternoon-24 to 27 knots. Steve and Laura were on M&M when the storm came up and tried rowing back to Parrotise but ended up going backwards, finally returning to wait it out on M&M.
