May 10-13
April 27th Match Race hosted by Tim Vicknair. Journey Vs. Tenacious, single handed. Loblolly with Dennis & Cee Koehler, Bryan Connelly, Dave & Helen Rock Vs. Seahawk with Dave & Barbara Wilcox joined by friends of theirs helping to crew, which ended in a photo finish by Loblolly. Chiang Mai with Rich and Bobette, with help from Ted Tisty and Ian Shearer, and of course Captain Dock Vs. Godspeed with Gerd Ottehening and help from several of his children. Honeycraft with Ron Honeycutt and Paul Sullivan Vs. Brenda Gail, with Doug Miller, Steve and Laura Twyman and Mike Shene. The evening ended at Clambake with Parrotise, Moon Fish, Odyssey, and Rock Reation grilling out and enjoying a huge, warm bonfire. Headed back to the boats, with the Parrotise dingy losing air Helen was pulling the dingy with one kayak and Dave pushing the dingy with the other kayak, as Dan continued to get wetter and wetter!
April 20th Dingy Dock Build/Shed Cleanup.
Swap Shop/International Potluck.
We had such a large group of people come together as a team to build the new dingy dock, which turned out wonderfully, and to clean out the club shed, which you can now actually walk in and find everything. After a full day of hard work everyone came together to celebrate with the buying/selling/giving away of "stuff" at the swap shop and enjoying some absolutely amazing food at the International Potluck, attended by about 40 people. A very successful event and looking forward to doing it again next year. It was better than any Buffett I have had! As usual the evening ended with some cornhole. Another great day and night with friends!

April 13th Wine Festival. Parrotise and Odyssey left the dock Friday afternoon for a slow and steady trip to Clarksville, and spent a wonderful night out on the water. Helen and Dave Rock, and Mark And Meryl Alexander joined us at the festival for a very nice afternoon in the warm sunshine, and then everyone spent time on Parrotise until it was time for dinner. Ian and Sheila Shearer joined us all for dinner at the pizza pub that evening. The Sunday trip back was another gorgeous, sunny day.
April 6 Fun Race hosted by Eddie. I believe there 8 boats in a Relay type race and several other boats who joined up with the race. Were about 30 total people out on the boats. Ron, who had hurt his back in a fall, and Laura, also suffering with back pain, were on the "wounded boat" rafted up with Tenacious to watch the race. Quite a few Sea Scouts enjoyed the race weekend as well.
March 30, Easter Weekend. The sunny, warm weekend we have all been waiting
for arrived bright and beautiful Friday morning and brought alot of people out for the weekend. It was great to see so many boats out on . Everyone enjoyed seeing Pat Terry out with his new boat, Kailani. That evening we all enjoyed some Bunny Carrot Cake. After a full day of fresh air and sunshine, we all called it an early night. Looking forward to many many more of these sunny warm days to come!

March 23rd Fun Race Hosted by Dave Wilcox. The Fun race got off to a slow start due to the 0.00 winds but 3 boats--Seahawk with Dave and Barbara Wilcox and Ron Honeycutt, Tenacious with Eddie Walters, Thanos Maroglou, and Allen, Loblolly with Dennis Koehler, Pat Terry and Laura Twyman, finally took off for a sail around 12:30 after an hour of just bobbing around. It began as a chilly and overcast day but by the afternoon the sun was breaking through and starting to warm up some. Tenacious finished 1st, Seahaw 2cnd and Loblolly 3rd. The 2013 Commodore presented Chesley Campbell with his new Vice Commodor Burgee and the 2012 Commodore Helen Rock with her previous Commodore Burgee. We are all still (im)patiently waiting for spring to arrive.
March 16th Spring Meeting.
On Friday evening, Parrotise, Odyssey, Loblolly and Chiang Mai anchored off Clambake to enjoy a bonfire and Smores. 40 people attended the Spring Meeting at the Henderson Point Glasshouse. There were so many to help with cooking, cleaning, chopping, cutting etc. And all was a tremendous success! Our new Commodore, Steve Twyman, was welcomed in, as we thanked Helen for a wonderful prior year of being Commodore. Saturday was the perfect day to be outside for all of us with spring fever--sunny and in the 70s. We did have another fire Saturday night but it didn't last very long as quite the storm came up on us. Winds were 37 in the marina so we know it was well over 40 where we were and it was quite the ride.

The weather was cold and rainy Saturday morning and we were not expecting too many people but we were pleasantly suprised to have 27 people, 2 dogs and 9 boats participate in the 2013 Brass Balls Sail hosted by Doug Miller. Doug provided each of us with a great souvenir to remember the event by. The rain had stopped by the time we got out onto the water. After the sail was over, everyone was interested in continuing to sail, so we kept on for a little while longer, but I think everyone was ready to warm up once they got back to the dock. It may have been cold but everyone had a great time. We talked about going to Clarksville but decided to put that off for when we can take the boats over, and opted for something closer instead. 13 of us had a fantastic dinner at Georges in Henderson and we are looking forward to going back there again. Thanks to Doug for hosting such a great and succesful event. Also thanks to Jeff for providing some additional pix of the event
February 9th, Sailing on Tenacious. Saturday was chilly but very sunny so Eddie made an invitation that anyone who wanted to go out on the water was more than welcome to join him-the more the merrier! Well we ended up with 9 people on Tenacious: Paul Sullivan, Doug Miller, Mark and Meryl Alexander, Steve and Laura Twyman, Tim Vicknair, Jeff Matthiae, and our great host-Eddie Walters. It was such a nice day enjoying time on the water with friends. We were all bundled up to stay warm on a cold day, but the
winds were perfect for sailing!

January 18-20: Chilli Cook Off
Arriving at the lake on Friday we found the lake level had increased by 4 ft and snow still remained on the dock, enough to make a small snowman at least. When Eddie arrived at the dock it had some small hills in it so the dock had to be brought in some. Saturday brought gorgeous blue skies and warm temperatures with coats not even being needed on the dock. The lake level had raised another foot since the previous night. Our first event of 2013, Chill Cook Off was quite a success with 30 people in attendance, and 7 different chillis to sample, all of which were extremely delicious. In the end Shannon Doane won 1st place and Meryl Alexander with a close 2cnd place. The gazebo was enclosed on several sides and a propane heater was inside, so people were nice and toasty for the evening. The lake level had come up another foot by the evening. Sunday morning brought another beautiful sunny day and again the lake level rising another foot. A Champagne Christening and renaming ceremony took place at RockReation.

Weekend of January 11 to 13. Saturday we were completely fogged in but several boats attempted to go out and we had almost lost sight of them by the time they hit the "No Wake" zone. The fog stayed with us most of the day. A small group enjoyed some cornhole for a little while and then a group of 17 gathered at Tenacious to help Barbara Celebrate her Birthday. Sunday morning we were fogged in again but it cleared by about 11am and everyone began heading out to enjoy the day.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Mrs and Mr Commodore ready to welcome in the 2013 in just 5 more minutes. A group of 15 played cards for about 1.5 hours on M&M eating lots of appetizers and enjoying Amaretto and Strawberries. After months or recooperation Rich brought the Funky Chicken back and the night ended with lots of dancing and laughter. We are all looking forward to making great memories in 2013!
