This Weekend's Group Sail and Chili Cook-off

Hello Everyone,  

It sounds like the sailing and weather was great up at the lake this past weekend.  Our first club event of the new year is the 3rd Annual Chili Cook-off on Saturday January 14th.  The weather is supposed to be sunny but cooler (great to warm up to some hot chili).  There will be a captain’s meeting on C-dock at 11 AM then out for a sail.  Returning to the dock by 4 PM so that the Chili ‘s can be heated and warm for tasting at 5 PM.  Please let Helen Rock know if you are bringing a Chili dish ([email protected]).  If you are not entering a dish, please bring other things to fill in (chips & dip, dessert, veggies & Dip, cheese and crackers, etc.). 

Other business: 

• If you ordered T-shirts, Doug Miller has the T-shirts on his boat (Brenda Gail C-37).  Be prepared to pay and receive your order. Doug also has extra T-shirts on hand if you would like to buy some. We also have SCYC burgees (pennant flags) for sale too.
• Mark your calendars for the next club event the Brass Balls Sail on Saturday February 18th (we will go out to dinner afterwards)
• Mark your calendars for the Spring Meeting on Saturday March 10th at the Henderson Point Community Building (already reserved)F

Finally, Helen Rock has made a great plea for SCYC members with youngsters and teens.  Please let her know so that some future events can be planned to get the kids excited about coming to the lake and sailing.  The friendships they make can last a lifetime.
