First of all we would like to welcome Keith and Wanda
Smoot to the club. They are located in slip C28.
What a wonderful weekend it turned out to be. It felt like a bit of fall in the air and by the calendar Fall begins next Sunday along with a full moon. You could also notice some leaves around the lake are starting to turn colors.
Friday saw a few people come up for the day and enjoyed some sailing and cleaning of boats. It is always a fun evening catching up with friend and sharing in some good times.
Saturday was a work day on the boats for some and others went out for a bit of a sail. Once again a few boats were out doing prep work for the upcoming Bluenose race. Clean bottoms help pick up that extra knot of speed. Once the sun went down you could feel the cool air blowing in and everyone around the dock started to put on warmer cloths. After dinners were done a small group headed down to hang out on Palisades for a drink before a movie. I am not sure if the
movie ever happened. A fun time was had by all.
Sunday was another beautiful day to be on the lake. With the fog rising off the warm water and the bright sun coming up over the trees with a cup of coffee in hand I had to say I did not want to be anywhere else. As my good friend always says Simple Pleasures.
Bluenose Race
As of this morning we have 15 boat starting the fun
race. The three new entries are Hideaway, Stargazer and Islander. If you are interested in entering your sailboat into the race please let me know by Tuesday evening. I will send out the rules and start times to each boat that is participating in a separate email Wednesday morning. Even if you do not plan on participating come on out and see the start of the race, 1st boats are off at 9 am, or just follow along with them on part of their journey.
Bluenose PreParty for ALL CLUB MEMBERS
The race preparty will be held Friday evening at the gazebo starting around 6:30 ish until. This is a preparty for all club members no matter if you are racing or not. We ask that you bring an appetizer to share and whatever you prefer to drink. Laura will be making a cake as this is now tradition for this race. If this year is
anything like last a good amount of smack talk will be done, some last minute strategies and some additions of burlap sacks to some boat keels. I have already seen that a few boats started this past weekend.
Enjoy your week.
