On Saturday morning the time had come to gather around and get all the rules and regulations for the Treasure Hunt. A BIG thank you to Dave, Barbara, Bobbette and Rich for putting on such a wonderful event. We had four boats (Parrotise, Unplugged, Chaing Mai, and Palisades) participate with a crew of at least 6 or more along with the four monitors, who were to make sure each boat completed each task. It was great to see several of our Sea Scouts participate.
Some of the tasks that were to be performed were to kiss a fish (which no one did) synchronized swimming (which I still have not seen the videos posted yet on the FB site) which was just way too much fun, build a pyramid with campers from shore, clean the bottom of the boat (which with my great crew we got done) and swim around the boat with a hula- hoop. Also during the hunt we had clues that we needed to follow to complete the course which ended back at the marina during the down pour of rain and the sinking of corn hole bags to win some fantastic prizes that were shared and eaten by
all.
The final results were
- 1st Place = Unplugged
- 2nd Place = Parrotise
- 3rd Place = Chaing Mai
- 4th Place = Palisades
After several rain showers, lake swims and dinner, the Movie time began. What another great night out under the stars watching a movie. Another Big thank you to Helen, Bryan and Ted for coming together with all the different equipment needed to put on the show. The pre-movie music was enjoyed by all in the marina and even a bit a dancing, including the funky chicken, was done before the movie began. Also a thank you to all to brought some snacks up during the movie.
Don’t forget about the upcoming events over the next couple of weekends
- Aug 10th = Dog days of Summer, I believe an evite went out giving you all the details. Please respond to this evite as soon as you can so our hosts can plan accordingly. We hope to see you and all your pups there.
- Aug 17th = Annual Luau at Henderson
Group Camping. I noticed only 29 people have responded so far and we need to have a good head count for the purchase of food. Please respond as soon as you know if you can come or not.
