Another big thanks goes out to Don Courtney, this year's winner of the Shipmate of the Year award. Don and his wife Dana quietly serve us year after year, meeting after meeting with delicious food. Although it seems to magically appear, we know that it doesn't, and that a lot of work goes into it even before arriving at the site to complete the cooking. Thank you Don and Dana!!
Please take the time to review the Fall Meeting Minutes. Many people volunteered to lead various activties and services for the club, and it would be helpful if you could review yours to ensure they were captured accurately.
Laura Twyman spent hours and hours reducing about 4,000 photos from 2012 to about 1/3 of that for projecting as a slide show for entertainment throughout our meal. Gerd Ottehenning performed a song he wrote about the Bluenose Race.
New officers for 2013 were nominated. I am purposefully not going to say who they are, hoping that you will take the time to open the meeting minutes!
But the best part of the weekend??? The GORGEOUS weather!! I think all of us just knew that this might be the last we see of such gorgeous weather for a while, so many went out for a short sail following the meeting and then came back in time to eat the leftovers for dinner.
It was just such a perfect night for relaxing and socializing. I am so happy to be part of such a great place and surrounded be such wonderful people.
Thank you all for your friendship, laughter, fun, and support.
(And especially to Eddie Walters and Mark Alexander for helping to make our boom a little quieter!)
Respectfully yours,
Helen Rock
